  • Job Description

    -Verify payments from EOB’s daily.

    -Claim adjustments/hardcopy billing.

    -Work trial balances/status report claim edits.

    -Registration corrections/electronic billing.

    -Patient insurance calls/walk ins.

    -Switchboard coverage (including running credit cards).

    -Filing in basement/discount and surcharge calculations.

    -Correct insurance and self pay postings.

    -Verify self payments.

    -Adjust claim balances/restart EMA self pay billing.

    -Set up payment plans/research missing payments.

    -Use various computer systems/websites for claim checking.

    --Special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements & Qualifications

    -High School Graduate or equivalent required.

    -2 years healthcare billing experience required.

     -Knowledge of medical terminology.

    -Understanding of health insurance benefit plans and billing including copays.

    -Computer literate including Word and Excel.

    -Must be able to carry 10lbs up and down stairs.

    -Ability to multitask and handle heavy phones.

    -Self starter, organized, detail oriented, ability to adapt to system changes.

    -Spanish speaking preferred.
